‘Follow the Dream’ is a voluntary afterschool tuition and mentoring program designed to promote the academic success of aspiring Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students. Only selected students receive an invitation to attend the program, based on the programs selection criteria of attendance, engagement, school grades, and NAPLAN results.
Students receive mentoring and pathway planning support from the Follow the Dream Program Champion and tutors. Specialist tutors also deliver support designed to promote academic success and to support the post school aspirations of individual students.
The Cunderdin Follow the Dream after school tuition takes place in the Library Computer Lab. A light afternoon tea will be provided to students enrolled in the program. The program operates on Monday from 3:00pm – 4:45pm, with tuition between 3:15pm – 4:45pm.
Opportunities for students to attend careers excursions/camps, rewards, after school activities, mentoring visits, community events, and development programs also occur during the year.
